In May of 2017 we attended an RV rally hosted by Howard and Linda Payne of RV-Dreams.com. Their rallies are all about full-timing and what it is all about. One of the unique things about their rallies is a large percentage of attendees don’t even own an RV. That was the category we fell into during the rally in Sevierville, TN. A local RV dealership had a few RV’s on site for the rally attendees to look at and drool over. The majority of 5th wheels on display were DRV Mobile Suites or DRV Elite Suites. These were very nice but way out of our price range.
One of the many things we learned at this RV rally was that one of the largest RV shows in the country takes place in Hershey, PA in September. Hershey is only a 4 hour drive from where we were living outside of Rochester, NY so we decided to go and check out the show. While at the show, we marveled at the people actually buying RVs while at the show. We thought that was just crazy. Then we hooked up with a dealer that is local to our home town that was just about to become DRV distributors and deals were to be had. Next thing we knew, we were one of those crazy people that buy an RV at America’s largest RV show.
We purchased a 38RSSA model. This model is just under 40′ long, which is a bit larger than what we originally planned to get. It has a lot of nice features and a floor plan that we like.
