Getting Through it Together

If you have been following our blog recently, you will have noticed that we have been traveling with our good friends, Jim and Corinne. After leaving the desert near KOFA National Wildlife Refuge, we spent 2 more weeks with our friends before parting ways on April 24. We first joined up in Indio, CA on February 19 with a rough plan to visit Death Valley and not much else planned after that. Little did we know that things would get as crazy as they did or that we would appreciate each others company as much.

Self Isolation in the Desert

Sunset colors paints the eastern sky over Signal Peak

After a couple of days in Buckeye, AZ to stock up on groceries and take care of our tanks, we headed for the desert for self isolation. Patagonia Lake State Park

After leaving the busy week of the Escapees Hangout, we set up camp at this highly rated state park in southern Arizona. Nestled in the mountains near the Mexican boarder, Patagonia Lake State Park is said to have two seasons: boating season and birding season. We were there during the birding season so most of the accompanying pictures are of birds.

Lost Dutchman State Park

When we left Quartzsite, we stopped in Buckeye for a couple nights to do laundry and take care of our tanks. From there we headed to Lost Dutchman State Park on the eastern side of Phoenix. This park is very popular and we were happy to have reservations to spend the week with friends. Little did we know that we would spend time with more friends than we had planned.
