For the second year in a row, we spent the 2 weeks following Labor Day weekend camped at Southwoods RV Park in Byron, NY. This location is very close to where we lived before retiring and allows us to visit the grandkids, their parents, and our friends from our years in the Rochester, NY area. We spent three consecutive weekends with the grandkids and filled our weekdays visiting friends and recovering from the weekends.

It has been over a month since our last blog post. We haven’t done a lot of extra special stuff during this time, just meandering our way north to get new furniture in our house on wheels and eventually to Rochester to see our grandkids. We thought this would be a good time to write about different types of campgrounds and why we prefer one particular type over all the rest.

After leaving our friends, we spent another week in North Carolina to spend some time in the Smokey Mountain National Park. We decided to reconnect with them and others a few weeks later. That reunion was on the gulf coast in the panhandle of Florida. This decision dictated our stays during the end of October and early November. Making last minute decisions like this is the benefit of not booking too much too early.
